One Month Old!
YIPPEEEEE! I'm a month old! Being out here in the real world isn't so bad! I think I like it! I have gone for lots of walks in the stroller, I have been to my Daddy's office a couple of times, I have experienced the fun of sitting in the cell phone store for over an hour, and I have gone through LOTS AND LOTS of diapers! All in all, it's been a good first month! I'm not sure EXACTLY how much I weigh...plus, it's not polite to ask, but I think it's somewhere close to 8 1/2 pounds. Hard to believe some of my new friends weighed that much when they were born! My mom says "that's for the birds"! -----JOCELYN

Story Time
Thursday, May 14, 2009
Did I say Jocelyn was super sweet? Well, she is. But if you could HEAR what came out of this mouth, you would give in too. This was one of those "quit-taking-my-picture-and-fix-my-lunch" screams. It is sooooooooo dramatic, and that bottom lip just quivers. I'm pretty sure you'd fix her lunch ASAP, too!
Another of my favorite pictures....this is a Moses basket that my friend Erin sent for Jocelyn...she was "sunning" in the window in the basket when she got the hiccups, so my Mom propped her up to "help" her get through this little spell. DID I MENTION THAT JOCELYN HAS SOME CRAAAAAAAAZZZZY BLACK HAIR?? Jay had this same black hair when he was born....I did not. I was bald until I was walking I think. So, now my Mom and I call the Moses basket a "boat", because it looks like she's gazing out of a little boat. We even named it the "S.S. Hiccup".
Quite possibly my very favorite picture of Jocelyn to date....this was taken on the car ride home from the hospital....it's almost like you can see the cartoon box above her head that says "Tee hee! They're taking me home! They are gonna be in for a REAL TREAT!!!" And naturally, we HAVE been in for a treat...she has been an excellent baby! She sleeps 4 hours at a time (sometimes 5 1/2 hours!!!), and only squawks when she needs clean panties or a snack!
Jocelyn Claire House joins our family! She was a tiny 6 pounds, 15 oz, 19 inches....not the 8+ pounds we were told to be prepared for. After a relatively short labor process, complete with all the bells and whistles you hear about that "could happen, but are unlikely", Jocelyn arrived and was squealing away as Daddy put her first diaper on!
I believe in my previous post I said "one more week" until Jocelyn arrives....WRONG! We went for another checkup this morning and the doctor said he would be seeing us TONIGHT at the hospital when we check in for a Tuesday delivery! You have not seen two people move so fast! (side note....I may have had a hunch that something like this would happen, which is why I spent April 19 doing things like vacuuming baseboards and moving living room furniture in order to clean behind it)
